A b o u t  t h e  A r t i s t

My name is Micky van den Bosch, I am Dutch, but after many years travelling around, I ended up in Sweden, where I live now for 4 years and believe me I would never want to leave again.

Sweden the land of space, peace and quiet, mysterious forests, uncountable lakes, endless beaches and the land of Trolls, Elfs, Mermaids, Goblins and Tomten.

In every corner, behind every tree, underneath every stone, wherever you go you find magical creatures.  Even here in my own house in Löddeköpinge there lives a still growing amounth of them.

It is about them that I wrote a book , that at the moment is being translated in to Swedish.

 I have been making and sculptuing fantasy figures for about 20 years. When I was still living in Holland I often and with a lot of pleasure participated in PoppenBeurzen (Dollmakers Fairs) of Niesje Wolters (then still under my married name Recuerda).

I also had and permanent exhibition at the famous tourist atraction De Zaanse Schans in De Lelie.

Even when I was travelling around a lot, before my Swedish years, I never stopped with making fantasy dolls and sculptures. For example I had a little art and gift shop in the South of Spain where I had permanent exhibition and my work was also shown at 2 other art shops in Spain.

Because I could not find anybody who could illustrate my book exactly the way I wanted it (and also because the fairy's told me so) I started to paint and draw them myself. Something that I enjoy very much doing!

    In my work you will find som influences of Wicca, because what you are is what you make
