The choir of Midwinter-Elfs

IIn my cold and wintery garden, under the light of the almost full moon, stood a choir of Midwinter-elfs.

They could easyly have been mistaken for an Angelchoir, white and silvery as the were. Only that they were fairer, endlessly much fairer than any Angel could ever be.

Some of them were naked with bodies of such a breathtaking beauty, that we humans only can dream of, others were dressed in lace-veils thinner than spiderwebs. They all were crowned with ice-crystals sparkling like daimonds, in the most amazing shapes.

But when they started to sing, their beauty grew pale compared with their heavenly voices, a sound so supernatural, pure and clean like ice-rain. I listened a drank the tones into my thirsty soul, only one moment and then........, then I was gone.

I floated over snowy mountains, ran  indefatigable with a herd of reindeer so fast that my feet  harldy would touch the frozen ground, I slided along glaciers and I wandered through endless loneley snow-covered forests side by side with the kings of the woods - the moose..With every breath that I took I got cleansed, all the sorrow, all the earthly worries, all the pain and lonlyness got washed away. Every thing got clean and pure again and what remaind was me,  in  the form of pure energy and joy.

How long it took? I donŽt know, it could have been one heartbeat or a whole life time, because time outside our world doesnŽt matter.

The singing of the elfs became softer and disappeared completly. Slowly I returned and for a moment, I had the feeling that IŽd got born again.

The Elf-choir faded away and I found myself  staring at the now dark spot were they had been standing.

Was I really here? The world was silent and it began to snow, thick white flakes whirling down , like feathers from a heavenly bird.

I looked around, everything was different but still the same. The difference was that I had changed!
